Northern Rivers, NSW - Australia
I've spent a decade helping Australians have the conversations they usually avoid - in rooms of teenage boys, executive teams, national summits and the daily media. I work with leaders and organisations through advisory, speaking and facilitation.
I spent a decade building The Man Cave, Australia's leading charity for boys' wellbeing - reaching more than 120,000 young men with a team that grew sixty strong, devoted to a healthier story of masculinity.
That work took me from school halls in regional Victoria to the United Nations, the Sydney Opera House and Buckingham Palace. Along the way I raised more than $20 million across government, philanthropy and private investment, built a brand that broke into the national conversation, and learned what it takes to carry a movement - and what it costs.
In 2024 I handed the reins to the next generation of leadership, staying on as a co-founder and director. Since then I've taken a consumer brand into national retail and closed it - an education of its own - and settled into a slower rhythm on a small property near Mullumbimby with my fiancee Laura, where I write, advise a handful of founders and organisations, and host gatherings around the fire.
My work draws on a decade of facilitation and experience design - rites of passage traditions, depth psychology and mythology - and a conviction that the leaders our times need are made, not found. If there's a single thread through all of it, it's this: I listen - to a person, a team, a whole organisation - until the deeper pattern shows itself, then help them align with it.
Ongoing advisory for founders, executives, purpose-led organisations and government - on strategy, brand, culture, raising capital, and thinking more clearly about what you're actually building. Grounded in a decade of scaling a movement to 120,000 young men, and the harder-won lessons of winding a venture down. A small number of one-to-one mentoring places sit alongside this each year.
EnquireKeynotes and, increasingly, in-conversation sessions - each preceded by a briefing call to find the room's real dilemma, so the session speaks to your people rather than at them. On modern masculinity, mental health, culture and leadership, drawn from a decade at the front of Australia's men's wellbeing movement. Delivered in rooms from Google and Nestle to the United Nations. Represented by Saxton Speakers.
Book a talkDesigning and holding the sessions where something real needs to happen - executive offsites, team resets, conferences and immersive gatherings, architected end to end. A craft honed in rooms that could hardly be more different - juvenile justice centres and CEO tables, elite sporting clubs and national summits on domestic violence. Anywhere trust has to be earned fast.
Learn moreThe most important shifts in a leader's life rarely happen in a boardroom. They happen when the noise drops away - on the land, in circle, in the kind of conversation that has room for the whole person.
I host small, carefully held gatherings at our home in the hills behind Mullumbimby - a property with a renovated barn for movement and workshop sessions, and a forty-foot tipi for the deeper work. Nothing is improvised: every gathering is designed end to end - the arc, the pacing, the ritual - drawing on rites of passage traditions that have marked thresholds for millennia. Retreats blend facilitated dialogue, time on the land, contemplative practice and shared meals.
I write essays on leadership, masculinity, transition and the inner life of building things - the kind of writing I wished existed when I was in the thick of it. This is where the live inquiry happens. New pieces land on Substack.
